Details

Not only was the Spitfire one of the most famous British aircraft of the 20th century; it was also one of the most important aircraft of the Second World War. The Spitfire was continuously improved during WW2 and the Spitfire Mk IXe entered service in the summer of 1944. It featured a Merlin 70 engine which allowed for a maximum speed of 404 mph. It could climb to a maximum altitude of 42,500 feet, with an incredible power (for it's time) of 1,720 hp! The rate of climb was 4,745 feet per minute.

Prestige Models are thrilled to introduce you to this accurate scale flying balsa model of the fabulous Spitfire Mk IXe TD314 as operated by Aero Legends based at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. The model is built from laser cut balsa sheets with a simple slot together design (no glue or paint is required) making it an ideal project for the young builder. Just apply the self adhesive authentic decals supplied in the kit and you can be flying in minutes.

Also included in the kit is a full colour history sheet of the aircraft and a pilot logbook for the budding enthusiast.

Collect the complete range of authentic scale balsa kits from Prestige Models. They are larger than the majority of similar freeflight models on the market and a great way to introduce young people to aircraft and the principles of flight whilst having lots of fun at the same time!
