Description
The Reedy Low Profile Bullet Connectors (Part No: AS645) are specialized, high-conductivity power connectors designed for competitive 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC racing. These 5mm connectors feature a "Low Profile" design, reducing the vertical height of the battery plugs to allow for sleeker body shells and a lower center of gravity, while maintaining the massive surface area required for high-amp brushless systems.
Key Features:
- High-Precision Machining: Crafted from high-grade brass with heavy gold plating to ensure ultra-low resistance and prevent oxidation, which is critical for maintaining "punch" throughout a full race heat.
- Low-Profile Head: The shortened top section allows wires to sit closer to the battery surface. This is essential for modern "mid-motor" buggies where clearance between the battery and the body or center driveshaft is extremely tight.
- Maximum Surface Contact: The 5mm diameter provides significantly more contact area than standard 4mm bullets, reducing heat buildup and voltage drop during high-current draws (jumps, straightaways).
- Easy-Solder "Cup": Features a deep, pre-tinned soldering well that allows for a secure, high-integrity bond with 12AWG or 10AWG silicone wire.

Installation & Pro-Tip:
Soldering 5mm bullets requires a lot of heat. Pro-Tip: To avoid burning your fingers, plug the bullet into a spare "disposable" battery block or a specialized aluminum soldering jig while you work. This acts as a heat sink and holds the connector perfectly upright. Use a large chisel tip on your iron to heat the "cup" and wire simultaneously, ensuring the solder flows deep into the connector for a permanent bond.
Maintenance Note: If the bullet feels easy to pull out of the battery, the "tension leaves" have compressed. Use a small hobby knife or flat-head screwdriver to gently flare the leaves outward. A tight fit is mandatory to prevent arcing, which can melt your battery's plastic case.
