Description
The Reedy 280-SL4 Brushless Motor (Part No: AS904) is a high-performance 4500kV sensorless motor specifically designed for the Team Associated Reflex 14B and 14T. Combining a high-RPM "mini" footprint with the torque of a 4-pole rotor, this motor is the primary power source for Associated's 1/14 scale platform, offering a perfect balance of top-end speed and manageable low-end throttle control.
Key Features:
- 4-Pole Construction: Unlike standard 2-pole micro motors, the 4-pole design provides significantly higher torque and efficiency, allowing the Reflex 14-series to clear large jumps and power through high-traction surfaces without bogging down.
- 4500kV Rating: Optimized for 2S LiPo power, this kV rating provides a high RPM-per-volt ratio, delivering blistering straight-line speeds while remaining within the thermal limits of the 1/14 scale chassis.
- Heavy-Duty Bearings: Equipped with high-speed, oversized ball bearings to handle the high rotational speeds and side-loads typical of off-road racing and bashing.
- Plug-and-Play Integration: Features pre-installed 3.5mm gold-plated bullet connectors that plug directly into the Reedy SC300-BL ESC (AS29188), making installation or replacement a 5-minute task.
- Finned Heat Sink Can: The motor housing features a fluted design to increase surface area, aiding in heat dissipation during long, high-speed runs.

Performance Tuning Tip:
When running this motor on 3S LiPo, the RPMs increase dramatically. Pro-Tip: If you move from the stock 2S to a 3S battery, you MUST monitor your motor temperatures. If the motor exceeds $80^\circ C$ ($175^\circ F$), you should drop your pinion gear size by 1–2 teeth to prevent the magnets from losing their strength (demagnetizing) due to excessive heat.
Maintenance Note: Periodically check the 2.0mm motor shaft for any debris or hair that may have wrapped around the bearing during indoor or carpet runs. A clean shaft ensures the motor maintains its high-efficiency 4-pole torque without added friction.
