Description

The Futaba SBS-01ML is a high-tech telemetry adapter designed to bridge the gap between MAVLink-capable flight controllers (such as Pixhawk, ArduPilot, or PX4) and Futaba S.Bus2 radio systems. By translating the complex MAVLink data stream into Futaba’s proprietary S.Bus2 protocol, this adapter allows drone pilots and UAV operators to view critical flight data—such as GPS coordinates, altitude, airspeed, and battery status—directly on their Futaba transmitter screen in real-time.

Key Features:

  • Universal MAVLink Integration: Compatible with any flight controller that outputs standard MAVLink data, making it a vital tool for professional UAV and long-range FPV pilots.
  • Comprehensive Data Feedback: Supports a wide array of telemetry points including flight mode, battery voltage, current, GPS position, airspeed, and barometric altitude.
  • Plug-and-Play S.Bus2 Connection: Simply plugs into the S.Bus2 port of a telemetry-enabled receiver (like the R7008SB or R3008SB) and the telemetry port of your flight controller.
  • Reduced Cockpit Clutter: Eliminates the need for multiple individual Futaba sensors (GPS, Voltage, RPM) by pulling all the data directly from the flight controller’s existing sensors.
  • Lightweight Design: At only a few grams, it adds negligible weight to the aircraft, which is critical for maintaining flight efficiency and endurance.

Technical Specifications:

Attribute Specification
Input Protocol MAVLink
Output Protocol S.Bus2
Operating Voltage 3.7V – 7.4V
Weight Approx. 7g
Length Approx. 450mm (Total length)

Configuration Tip:

To use the SBS-01ML, you must configure the telemetry port (UART) on your flight controller to output MAVLink at a specific baud rate (typically 57600). Additionally, you will need to register the adapter in your Futaba transmitter's "Sensor" menu. Since the adapter occupies multiple "slots" to transmit varied data, ensure your transmitter is set to FASSTest-18CH or T-FHSS Air mode to accommodate the full range of telemetry information.
