Description
Achieve a professional finish with Oracover Easycoat, the high-quality yet cost-effective polyester covering film designed specifically for R/C model aircraft. Engineered by Lanitz-Prena, Easycoat offers the same renowned shrinking power and durability as standard Oracover but at a more accessible price point. Its lightweight nature and low application temperature make it an exceptional choice for everything from small park flyers to larger sport models, providing a sleek, sag-free finish that remains taut through temperature changes.
Key Features:
- User-Friendly Application: Extremely forgiving during installation; it can be applied using a standard hobby iron or a heat gun with excellent repositioning qualities.
- Low Temperature Activation: The heat-sensitive adhesive activates at approximately 80°C – 100°C, making it safe for use on temperature-sensitive foam surfaces.
- Superior Shrinkage: Boasts multi-directional shrinking capabilities that allow the film to conform smoothly around complex curves, wingtips, and cowlings.
- Fuel & Oil Resistant: Fully resistant to glow fuel, petrol, and smoke oil, ensuring your model's livery stays vibrant and bonded even in messy flight environments.
- Consistent Dimensions: Once set at its working temperature, the film maintains constant tension, preventing the "sagging" or "wrinkling" common in lower-grade films.
Application Temperature Guide:
| Phase | Temperature Range | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Tacking | 80°C – 100°C | Adhesive bonds to the surface without significant film shrinkage. |
| Shrinking | 130°C – 150°C | Film tightens across open frameworks and removes small wrinkles. |
| Max Stretch | Up to 200°C | Used for stretching around difficult 3D curves (use with caution). |
Pilot's Covering Tip:
For the smoothest results, always sand your wood surfaces to a fine 400-600 grit and vacuum away all dust before starting. When covering open-frame wings, tack the edges down at a low heat first (90°C), then use a heat gun or a higher iron setting (140°C) to "drum-tighten" the bays for a perfect, aerodynamic finish.
