In days of old, learning to fly usually meant accepting a trainer that resembled a shipping container with wings. How times have changed. Based on the Tecnam P2010 four seater, Arrows’ latest is not only the perfect fixed-wing tutor – tough, stable and forgiving – it looks sensational and will take you from tentative early circuits to full-house aerobatics. Using a bog-standard 3S 2200mAh LiPo the flap-equipped Tecnam is also cheap to run and, at a gnat’s whisker shy of 58” span, large enough to make an impression. Best of all it comes with the Vector switchable stabilisation system pre-installed, plus mounting points to accept the optional float set (sold separately). Truly, the prospect of learning to fly has never looked so good and, for that matter, neither has stooging around on a calm day taking in some gentle aeros. Lovely.
