Details
The Douglas C-47 was the military version of the DC-3, which famously increased airliner passenger traffic by 600% from 1936 to 1941. The US Army required a transport aircraft and specified a number of changes to make it acceptable for military use. This included fitting Pratt and Whitney twin wasp radial piston engines, removing the airline seating and replacing with utility seats along the walls and fitting additional loading doors.
The Dakota was the British designation for this transport workhorse and Top Gun Park Flite have captured the scale outlines of this aircraft and transformed it into an exceptionally simple and serviceable model that performs above and beyond its price point. It’s extremely well behaved performance is guaranteed with the clever EPA composite foam construction and simplistic functional design methodology. The airframe is paired seamlessly with 2 high performance brushless motors and speed controllers that are fed via a single 11.1v battery to keep running costs down.
The Dakota can be flown however you want to fly it, from graceful rectangular circuits to aggressive aerobatics; you really can have your cake and eat it with this model.
The Top Gun Park Flite C-47 Dakota is an ideal step-up into the unique and exciting sector of twin engined warbirds, and to put the icing on the cake it’s priced to make the transition painless on your wallet too.
