As part of ongoing product development, this latest version 2 of the very popular FMS Mustang now incorporates a number of great improvements.
1. The main undercarriage now features an electronic retract system which does not use servos but uses a small coreless electric motor and worm gear drive that is integral to the retract unit. It has proven to be extremely durable in our extensive field trials and requires no setup whatsoever.
2. A sprung tail wheel now driven off an enlarged high torque rudder servo.
3. A higher specification 50A electronic speed controller with integral 3 Amp high output BEC.

In this new version of their very popular large scale Mustangs, FMS replicate the P51 of Major Fred Ohr who flew over 150 missions and had six kills as squadron leader for the famous 2nd Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Group, the “American Beagles.” He ended up flying in Africa and all over Europe, earning two Silver Stars, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and a Bronze Star among other decorations. With it's highly distinctive yellow and silver colour scheme, this new EPO super strong and lightweight foam moulded aircraft has stunning scale detail.

By focusing on a much larger size than many similar models on the market, FMS have been able to recreate with fine detail many of the Mustangs classic and much loved features. In addition the larger size (wing span 1450mm) means this warbird is a dream to fly with very stable characteristics associated with high wing models, yet you can still recreate your own adrenalin fuelled aerobatics and dog fights just like the real thing.

The painted moulded fuselage features a removable cockpit hatch that includes a pre-painted and installed pilot figure, easy access to battery bay, servos and radio. Pre-installed retracts feature retract doors and scale type struts, along with pre-painted servo tray covers for added realism. Flaps are fitted for slow scale landings and short take-offs. The classic P51 4-bladed 13x6 propeller is provided for those ultimate scale sorties, while an optional 2-bladed 13x9 prop and spinner are also included for increased speed and performance.

The FMS Mustang is factory fitted as standard with a powerful brushless motor and the latest technology 2.4GHz 6 channel radio system for very reliable operation and elimination of interference. The transmitter also features elevon mixing (not used in this model) and dual rates. Here's your chance to own a classic warbird with great presence and substance!
